Does being seen more on the web lead to more mentions in AI assistants? I’m defining “being seen” or web visibility as the estimated total monthly organic search traffic to all pages that mention the entity.
These are prominent pages on the web, with a lot of visibility. Having your brand present on these pages means you likely have more credibility, that you’re a known brand.
I looked at the top 50 websites mentioned in Ahrefs Brand Radar for Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity. This is across ~76.7M AI Overviews, 957k ChatGPT prompts, and 953.5k Perplexity prompts for the month of June 2025.
Let’s dig in.

It will be interesting to see how this changes when we run this for a larger number of websites.
Make sure you check out Brand Radar. Brand Radar isn’t just another LLM visibility monitor, we track a large amount of queries across all of these systems and you can query for any product, service, or brand and compare vs competitors. It’s more like Site Explorer than it is Rank Tracker.
Plus we have the web visibility index so that you can see how you’re talked about online and the search demand index to see how popular you are in searches.
Have you ever heard of domain flipping? It’s an unusual way to make some extra cash online. Basically, you buy a domain name for a low price and then sell it for a higher price to make a profit. Sound familiar? It’s kind of like buying and selling real estate (or Pokémon cards) but instead…
Getting customers is the lifeblood of any business. But search for “how to get customers,” and you’ll find yourself flooded with advice, tips, and tactics. It’s hard to know which one to choose, considering that you have limited resources. Fortunately, most strategies on how to get customers boil down to these four fundamental methods: Find…
Given OpenAI’s close relationship with Microsoft, many expect that ChatGPT’s retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) process would use Bing. However, over the past months, some SEOs discovered that ChatGPT may have secretly pivoted to using Google instead. These were all one-off experiments. So, I wondered if it was possible for us to find out the ‘truth’ using data…
The internet never forgets… unless the page vanishes, the site goes offline, or the content quietly changes overnight. That’s where web archiving tools come in. They allow you to access saved versions of web pages, even if they get taken offline. The Wayback Machine is the best-known option, but it isn’t perfect—it’s slow, sometimes misses…
I set up some tests over a month ago to see if Google would rank content generated by Google AI Mode in the organic search results. Spoiler: it did not rank. Google believes AI Mode content is good enough to show to users in what will likely be the default search mode in the future. But…
We studied the traffic of 3,000 websites to better understand the size and make-up of AI traffic—including how much of it is being sent, the most common referral sources, and how that differs depending on the size of the site. We analyzed the traffic differences between sites driving greater than 10,000 visitors, between 1,000 and 9,999…
